The Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), under the Ministry of Defence, works on the resettlement of ex-servicemen (ESM). One of its schemes empanels security agencies run by ex-servicemen, so that government departments and PSUs can hire security guards from them.
An agency that is empanelled or sponsored by DGR is often called a DGR empanelled ESM security agency.
